Shoobridge Funeral Services is an independent family
business based primarily in Honiton, Exeter, and Exmouth Devon in the United Kingdom. 'Personal and professional pride' are the keywords of our service and complete responsibility is employed in all our undertakings. Our services include effecting burials and cremations in the United Kingdom and Europe in addition to international transportation by air or sea.

Terry, Penny, and Paul Shoobridge join together to offer in excess of 70 years of experience, blended with the highest qualifications and training available within the funeral profession. We have put together an excellent team of people to help and support us and the people we serve.
“Our aim is to deliver excellence in funeral care by offering traditional funeral services, together with a modern approach, one that is both creative and individual family-led process, embracing the celebration of life. We pride ourselves on the personal, caring, and first-class service that we offer our local and wider community”.

Company Director
Paul joined Penny and Terry (mum and dad) on a full-time basis in April 2011. Building upon Shoobridge’s success, Paul expanded the family business offering funeral services to the local communities in both Exeter and Exmouth.
Paul strives for perfection and puts himself in the clients’ shoes. He regularly goes above and beyond to help and gently guide those recently bereaved to create a truly meaningful and personal service.
Paul says: “Following the initial meeting, families often make references such as; ‘I don’t know how you do your job’ as making the funeral arrangements and talking about their loved one is a raw and very emotional time. My reply is always the same: “It’s all about the families that I represent and how they often share their personal stories and the depth of intimate memories, in order to create the most reflective ‘farewell’. These special and unique moments
would never normally be mentioned in such a way. It is an honour to be entrusted with such a special responsibility.”
Paul in three words: “Attentive, compassionate and driven.”
In Paul’s free time, he enjoys family life, cooking, golf, motorcycles, football, music, and skiing.

Funeral Director
Penny and Terry, her ex-husband, started Shoobridge Funeral Services in 1993. Penny manages the Honiton branch. With more than 30 years' experience in caring for families and directing funerals, Penny is a kind, compassionate person with a deep love for people and animals.
She says: “The most rewarding part of my job is helping people through a really difficult time. No two families are ever the same. I love building relationships so that we can give families and their loved ones the very best care.”
Penny in three words: ‘Caring, approachable, dedicated.”
Away from work, Penny loves catching up with friends and looking after her gorgeously fluffy house cat, Clyde.

Funeral Director
Currently working from Canada, Terry has brought the company forward with foresight and vision regarding the UK and International funeral business. Taking a lead in advancement, his focus for Shoobridge Funeral Services has been at times, ‘ground-breaking’ whilst keeping the customer as the only priority. With bereavement care firmly in place, “Our doors are always open” is a common theme, principle and mantra which has promoted many friendships which have survived the passage of time. “Tradition is as important as keeping pace with modern trends, and maintaining a balance is both vital for ourselves and our many clients. Every consideration is addressed with enthusiasm so that each of our customers feels important and receives a bespoke funeral which is part of their journey forward – a memory worthy of the importance and love of their relative, colleague, friend or family member.”
In Canada, Terry volunteers for Vernon Search and Rescue, often being called to an emergency, to search for or to help people in life-threatening situation and conditions. He devotes time to helping the ‘new recruits’ settle in and making them feel welcome before initiating the vigorous training and ongoing development programme.
When home in Devon, Terry jumps straight back in and helps the Shoobridge team, delivering a first-class service to its local and wider community.
