The Chapel Service

A personal and fully bespoke service to celebrate the life of your loved one, held in our own service chapel, which can seat up to 50 people, followed by an unattended cremation or burial.

The ceremony can be as long or as short as desired because we don’t have the time constraints of a crematorium or church. It can even follow the cremation or burial in the style of a memorial service. If you want to listen to dad’s favourite album from cover to cover, then you can! If you want to have an appropriate theme for mum’s last party or a fitting dress code, then you can! You have total flexibility for when the funeral can be held. Saturday funerals are proving popular and an evening service or vigil remains an option.

With industry-leading, fully integrated media facilities, we offer truly unique and personal ceremonies using photos, videos and music. We can broadcast to family and friends joining from afar using our webcasting facilities and we can also record the entire service for you as a keepsake.

The Chapel Service package offers the highest value and flexibility of all our services. Fully bespoke, it is held in our very own light and airy service hall, White Lace Chapel, which seats up to 50 people and offers a beautiful setting for reflection. Consider it your blank canvas to create the perfect and most personal send-off or memorial service.

We at Shoobridge Funeral Services encourage the families we work with to personalise the funeral, making ceremonies unique and a true celebration of life. For 30 years we have worked with many clients, supporting and guiding them as they plan a service of goodbye at the most difficult times of their lives.

Working with you, we take pride in creatively crafting the most personal of funerals.

You are very welcome and encouraged to come and see our beautiful, purpose-built service hall before deciding to use any part of our services.

If cremation is to follow the service held in our chapel, the deceased will be cremated at a local crematorium on a separate occasion. The cremated remains will be returned to the family, or arrangements will be made in accordance with the family’s wishes. Please contact us for more information.

If a burial is to follow the service held in our chapel and you would like to attend the interment, this can be immediately following the service OR arranged for another day/time.

What's included?

The “Chapel Service Package” is fully inclusive of ALL the funeral director’s charges AND the disbursements (statutory fees) necessary to undertake the funeral.

The services of the funeral director in arranging the funeral and liaising with third parties and statutory bodies such as: hospitals, church ministers/celebrants, doctors, medical staff, cemeteries or crematoria staff.

A celebrant or church minister to lead the funeral service on the day. This could be a member of the local clergy, an independent funeral celebrant or a member of the British Humanist Association (BHA – strictly atheist).

Care of the deceased prior to the funeral including: basic hygienic treatment, preparation of the deceased, dressing the deceased in their own clothes, viewing or chapel of rest visits during office hours.

Provision of an oak veneered, fully upholstered, coffin, suitable for cremation or burial including engraved nameplate.

The conveyance of the deceased, by hearse or suitable vehicle, to the crematorium or burial location, on a separate occasion following the funeral service.

The services of the funeral director and all necessary staff to carry out the funeral on the allotted days.

The choice of day and time, with the service held in our service chapel, with total flexibility and without time restrictions, as far as possible and, as available.

Crematorium fees and charges including environmental surcharges will be paid on your behalf and are included within this package.

If burial in a local churchyard, the interment fee will be included. If burial in a local cemetery, woodland or natural burial site, this package will include a £400 contribution to the interment fees. Grave digging charges and removal of headstone fees are not included.

Statutory medical fees (if applicable)– relating to the production of official cremation forms – will be paid on behalf of the client and are included within this package.

Transportation of the deceased into our care locally with a 20-mile radius of our offices, during office hours 9.00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m.

Additional Services

Not included, that you may wish to consider are, the provision of:

Saloon cars and/or limousines for transporting the immediate family and/or close friends

Printed 'Orders of Service'

Including the insertion of family photographs.

Visual tributes

Including photos and video, recording and webcasting options.

Funeral notices

'Thanks' notices and obituaries - placed in local and national newspapers.

Family floral tributes

We work closely with local florists ensuring the best quality.

An alternative choice of coffin, such as:

Willow, solid wood, cardboard, picture coffins, etc.

Burials

For burials please call us, as the location of the burial, the type of burial and the cost of burial can vary significantly.
